Perfume According to Your Body Chemistry

For some women, picking perfume means going to a discount perfume outlet, smelling a spritz of the fragrance and then buying the one that smells the best. Whether a fragrance is in the line of cheap perfume, or a designer discount perfume, many believe that this method is universal. Well, there is a problem with that approach. A fragrance that smells good in the store could end up smelling horrible on your skin. Why? It's because your body chemistry determines the final aroma the fragrance gives off. This is especially the case with cheap perfumes, which often have more chemicals than designer brands.

So, how can you be assured that a brand of perfume, especially cheap or knockoff perfume, smells good with your body chemistry? First, spritz a sample of the perfume onto your skin. If you encounter a brand of discount perfume that is so inexpensive, you may not be able to get a sample. If this is the case, buy a small container and sample the fragrance at home. Either way, wait about 15 minutes for the scents to get into your skin. Do not spritz any more perfume until the 15 minutes are up. Smell the area again. This time you'll smell the mid-note. This will smell different to the initial scents. Still, if you like the aroma, you may want to consider getting the fragrance.

But before you do that, you need to get an idea of what the final base note smells like. So, spritz the perfume on your skin a second time. When your hour is up, smell your skin a final time. This aroma is what your perfume will smell like about 70% of the time, since it is the base note. So, it's really important that the scent is pleasing to you. This time you'll want to wait about an hour. Be careful not to wash your hands, or else you may interfere with the aroma, (since most public restrooms use scented soaps). So, try to forego drinking anything until this time frame has passed.

There you have it... you now know the best way to shop for discount perfume or even designer discount fragrances. True, this method will take more time than just smelling the fragrance in the store, but it ensures that you'll pick the right scents the first time.
