Key ways to strike a balance between your personal and professional life

We remember all we had in mind when we were attempting our University assessment papers was “time”. No matter what was the amount of answers we needed to write we had to do it in the pre-decided because it was said so. In fact why only in case of university exams, we hear the word ‘time’ much too often not to know that we do not have enough time to do whatever we want.
In fact we are so stressed out with our professional life that we rarely find time for our personal life. As a result there are frequent conflicts between our professional and personal life because neither can be avoided. Thus it is necessary that you strike a balance between the two. You need to realize that it is your life and it does not consist of your job alone. Neither does it consist of your personal life. Both are essential ingredients of your existence that must be respected and adhered to. Start keeping a written note of your dreams and goals that revolves around your work, family, friends, your dreams etc.

When you note down your priorities, you get more focused, your time is saved and you can do more work. Everyone wants to maintain a balance between the personal and professional life. So do not leave anything of importance and exclude anything that is unimportant. Stop being a cyborg. Increased dependency of technology does not make life any simple for you. Instead all the efforts for managing time go up in smoke as the computer games, social networking and other technological fascinating stuffs are nothing but means to lure you away from the world of stress and give you pleasure. Thus you get busy with these and spend precious time doing unproductive activities. You are not meant to spend your life in Facebook. So stop spending your time there.

Learn to take things easy. Take a break from your hectic schedule and spend time with yourself or your family. It is not a criminal offence to have no assignments on your schedule. It is these small moments of pleasure that you get the inspiration to go forward in life. Your brain is free of the tension and you get the peace you are looking for.

Never leave anything planning to do it later. It is always better to do it now because at any point of time you have to invest the same time and efforts to do it. Even at the back of the mind you will carry the knowledge that you could have done the work much before but you didn’t. Thus you will feel stressed. Thus stop leaving things for later and do it right now.

There is always something more that can be done by you. However there are no need for you to do it all by yourself every time. Let other people do it for you. Outsource your works and train them to do so. Make yourself free so that you can devote your time to the activities that will balance both of your lives.
