Beat the Bad Hair Day Blues

So many of us have had to cope with the horror of a bad hair day, those days where no matter how many times you style your locks they just refuse to go the way you want them too. So many women have battled with cans of hairspray, straighteners and tongs trying to replicate their normal style, only to be greeted with a barnet that looks like it has been modelled on a garden hedge. Coincidently these days always seem to happen when you need to be somewhere in a rush. Job interviews, meetings, night outs and weddings are all typical bad hair day red flags, days when it is easier to admit defeat and throw on a hat or head scarf and hope for the best. Trying to pre-empt a bad hair day sometimes works, well only if you set your alarm 3 hours early and fit in a trip to a salon before you're due at work. Although from personal experience this often ends in tears as an unexpected shower or selfish bird always seem to know when you will be emerging from the hairdressers with a freshly washed style. So how do we combat the dreaded bad hair day? If we cannot beat it should we just embrace it or are there other tricks of the trade that will help avoid a day of horror?

A must have for any bad head day fighting kit is serum, the lifesaving product that has been known to tame everything from extreme frizz to unruly curls. Simply rub a couple of drops of serum between your fingers and run through your hair for a sleek look. Just remember not to overdo it or sleek will turn into grease. Keep a hair kit in your bag which contains hair grips, bands and a handy embellished clip that will give the impression that you have not just scraped back your hair to avoid bad hair day embarrassment. The current rockabilly trend is ideal for serial offenders as a hair scarf or bandana can be artfully folded and tied to create a retro look that also hides greasy roots! A good volumising spray is also a must for those suffering from a case of the flats; take a look at the current Tigi Bed Head range for easy ways to pump up the volume.
