Useful Tips For Adjusting The Tattoo Machine

Many tattoo beginner may have problem in adjusting the tattoo machine. Adjust the tattoo gun in the right way will make the tattoo gun works more effectively.
First of all, let's have a look on how the tattoo gun works?
The voltage transformer change the alternating current (110V~220V) to the voltage that the tattoo machine requires.Normally, the voltage is 8V-12V, 10V-12V will be better. As current passes through the coil, the magnetic field it produces reacts with the magnetic field of the armature bar, causing the sorption and desorption. With the elasticity produced by the contact spring, the armature bar move up and down at a high speed. The armature drive the tattoo needles to pierce into the skin with the inks.
Connected the voltage transformer with the alternating current, turn on the Power, and check the indicator light, Red means the power is working. Then rotate clockwise the knob until the screen shows 10-12. If the voltage is higher, the output and the rotate speed will higher, and it will cause high depreciation of the electric contact.. Then connect the clip cord and the footswitch to the power.
Connect the clip cord to the tattoo gun, and step on the footswitch to start the tattoo gun. If the indicator light shows red, and the voltage is 10V-12V, but the tattoo machine still can't work, it may caused by incorrect assembly of the contact spring . In this case, you need to adjust the tattoo machine with the following instruction. First, remove the Contact Screw from the contact spring, then turn the contact screw slowly in a clockwise direction to connect the contact spring, at the same time, step on the foot switch to start the tattoo machine. Then release the foot switch, turn the contact screw clockwise 180-360 degree, and screw down to make the contact screw fixed. The voltage has a function of overload protection, if the charge voltage of current is too high and cause overload, it can cut off output power. When the power indicator shows green, but the Voltage shows zero, that means the short circuit. You have to turn down the power switch, then turn on it to resume the power. After setting the contact spring, if the tattoo machine still can't work, there must be something wrong with the wires, you'd better contact your supplier to get the tattoo machine repaired.
