Contracts for Wedding Bands - What They Should Contain

Are you currently in the process of studying the different options for wedding bands who will perform on your big day? Choose your band with a great deal of care because you certainly don’t want anything to go wrong on your special day. Selecting a good band is just one of the things you have to do while organizing entertainment. You have to follow it up with entering into a contract with the band so that there is absolutely no confusion about your requirement. Many people hesitate at the thought of writing a contract because they do not know how to write one but these documents are actually very easy to prepare.
The first thing that wedding bands contracts should have is the names of all the parties concerned. You should then follow that up with the venue where the band is supposed to perform. The contract should also include the exact time and date of your wedding reception in order to establish precisely when the band is required to turn up. This is important so that you retain control over when the band will arrive at the venue. You have to factor in the amount of time the band requires to set up and get familiar with the place before they actually start playing.

There will be a lot of equipment involved, some of which belongs to the band and some to the venue. You might even have to hire certain things if neither the band nor the venue can provide it to you. Include all this information in the contract so that there is absolutely no confusion on your big day and you don’t have to scramble at the last minute for equipment.

Wedding bands are required to play for a certain amount of time and you would certainly have discussed this with the musicians you have hired. This vital piece of information should also be included in the contract, along with details of the number of breaks the band should take. You should also write down the duration of each break the band is permitted. If you have committed to provide the band with refreshments then you should specify that in the contract as well. You will be surprised at the number of arguments that happen at the venue if the band feels that it is not being treated well in the aspect of refreshments and rest. As a matter of fact, you can actually get them to perform longer that initially agreed upon, for a fee of course, as long as they are in a good mood and have the time.

Money is very important and the contract should be very clear about it. Write down how much the band will receive and how it will be paid. If you have paid a deposit then include that information as well. You should also include a cancellation clause. Contracts for wedding bands bring a lot of peace of mind for all parties concerned. Make sure that you give individual copies to every band member.
