Fairy Cake Recipes,Cute Cupcakes In a Small Paper Holder

Fairy Cake recipes are cute cupcakes in a small paper holder. They often can be topped off with icing or fancy decorations. These make great desserts for a child's birthday party, cupcake sale, or even for that special family dinner. Making fairy cakes are relatively easy especially if you have a food processor. The average prep time is about 10 minutes and baking takes about 15 minutes.

You will need to have a few things in your kitchen to make your these very tasty cakes. The recipe calls for 125 grams of butter, 125 grams of caster sugar, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla essence, 2 large eggs, 125 grams of self-rising sifted flour, and 2 tablespoons milk. Most of the items are things you keep in your kitchen and if not a trip to the local supermarket should satisfy for the ingredients you do not have.

There are two ways to make fairy cakes. The first one we will discuss can be done by hand. Mix up the butter and sugar together in a bowl and then add your vanilla essence. Add your eggs one at a time and add a spoonful of flour in between each egg you add. Following this, you want to fold in the flour and a little bit of milk as needed.

The second and much easier method is using a food processor. Add your butter, sugar, vanilla essence, eggs, and flour to your food processor until it is of a smooth texture. Add a little bit of milk and then turn your food processor up to pulse. You want to add enough milk to give it a nice soft dropping consistency. You now want to divide the mixture between 12 bun cases in a muffin tin. Turn your oven onto 2000C. If you have, an electric oven let them bake at 1800C. You want to leave your fairy cakes in for about 10-20 minutes or until they are cooked or golden on top. You want to make sure that you do not leave your cakes in too long or they will dry out. Once this is done you, want to lift them out and put them on a wire rack to allow them to cool. If you want to make a real easy icing all you need to do is add a little water to some icing sugar until they have a nice smooth paste. When they are cool, you can drizzle some icing on top. The fairy cakes are best if they are eaten they day they are made. You can also buy traditional icing like Betty Crocker to decorate your fairy cakes. While this recipe serves 12, there are various fairy cake recipes out there for smaller groups. You can also cut down on the ingredients for smaller batches.
