Poinsettia plants are the most amazing holiday plants and they are loved for their beautiful foliage. This beautiful Christmas plant has inconspicuous flowers surrounded by colorful bracts that are often considered to be flowers by many people. The bracts can be red, white, cream or pink in color depending on the variety.
Christmas is the time when you tend to receive Poinsettia plants from friends and relatives. The potted Poinsettias look brilliant in their majestic color but it gets really tricky to take care of them. Triggering re- bloom is also very difficult as these plants have very specific requirements. Most of the plants die soon after the blooming period. However, it is not so difficult to keep them alive. Avoid placing the plants near heating ducts or fireplace as it can burn the leaves. These plants love warm but not hot temperature to survive. The plant cannot survive if the temperature falls below 15 degrees Celsius. If you house remains dry then it is recommended to mist the plant as it loves humid conditions. Lack of humidity in the air can cause the leaves to wither away.

The Poinsettia plant is very insensitive to fluctuating and incorrect temperature. Too much water and poor light can damage the plant so it is important to take care of the plant. These simple tips can help you to save your beautiful holiday plant from getting damaged.
