The Magic of Stone Vases

A stone has always and everywhere been accompanying a man: initially a hearth was constructed of it, then it became the main building and ornamental material, and still later it was started to be used in decoration of buildings. Such works of arts as amphorae, jugs, and vases made from this natural raw material have reached us from ancient times. And they are all perfectly preserved, though they have a few thousand centuries.

In the history of interior decorations and technology there were periods when a stone was a mandatory element, and the times when it was only used for the creation of decorative accessories. Today this natural material has again become the most popular and products thereof have been elevated to the rank of the highest art.

We will talk about vases made of natural stones, which, thanks to innovations in production technology, can have a variety of sizes, shapes and colors. Basically, vases are created with a polished surface, but sometimes a surface is grinded or made old.

Nowadays, vases made of such semiprecious stones as marble, serpentine, jade, jasper are the most popular. Multi-colored streaks and patterns of a stone, resembling petrified plants, make each vase exclusive. It is able to decorate an interior of any style: from classical to high-tech. Such products are very expensive, but it's worth it, since it is only under its power to attract the attention of anyone who would go into the room, despite the luxury of the rest of the environment.

Vases made of onyx will bring not only an atmosphere of comfort and warmth into the room, but will add it respectability and solidity. Put it near a window or some other source of light, where it will look spectacular, because this semi-precious stone, apart from the rest of its merits, has also photoconductive properties.

A layer of a stone varnish is put on the polished surface of vases made from travertine or sandstone, which gives them strength and moisture repelling properties. These products will be in harmony with the wood trim premises, and will bring it a special healing power of natural materials. Unlike granite, these stones are absolutely clean and harmless to health, and their cost is significantly cheaper.

Due to modern technology capabilities it has become possible to apply images or patterns to the finished product, which gives vases the identity and nobility. Vases from antique stone in the classical style of Greco-Roman art, with paintings taken from the history of life and customs of ancient patricians, are very popular nowadays. Among other things, these products may be adorned with semi-precious stones such as: serpentine, opal, lapis lazuli, topaz, aquamarine and many others.

Modern buildings are decorated not only with marble staircases, granite columns and walls tiled with polished stone, but with malachite fireplaces with the same candlesticks and jewellery boxes, as well as onyx vases. All this creates an atmosphere of cosines and comfort in the room.

For today, there are about eight thousand kinds of natural stone, which differs in structure, pattern and color in relation to its different places of origin. Therefore, a successful choice depends entirely on you and your room design.
